Special Educational Needs & Disabilities

Paraplegic Sporting Event

Our SEN Information Report – which is part of Durham County Council’s Local Offer – provides details about how we support children and young people with Special Educational Needs at Burnhope Primary School.

The SEN Information Report was reviewed and updated on 3rd March 2022.

A child or young person has SEN if they have a learning difficulty or disability which calls for special educational provision to be made that is additional to or different from that made generally for other children or young people of the same age (CoP 2015 p16)

This SEND Information Report should be read alongside the school’s SEND Policy, the Equalities Information and Objectives and the Accessibility Plan.

Our Vision for SEND

At Burnhope Primary School we believe that all children are entitled to a quality of provision with will allow them to achieve their potential through high expectations and celebrating achievements. At our school we aim to be full inclusive at all times, always striving to provide the best provision and support for each child in our care. By doing this we aspire to develop lifelong learning skills, where children have respect for themselves and a positive attitude towards the world around them.
